OSAI develops AI systems for sports analytics. This is their Deep Learning-based method for real-time analysis of high frame rate table tennis videos. Video contains results of work of production ready system using TTNet on over 20 hours of table tennis videos. I can’t say I understand it all, but it shows that table tennis is getting some of the same tech used in “bigger” sports. More info can be found in this article.
Unfortunately, the SCTTC will need to remain closed. We are keeping an ear out for notice from either the Governor or County, but so far, it isn’t looking good. Yesterday’s announcement regarding lifting a few restrictions, should give us all some hope that restrictions will slowly be lifted over the next weeks and months. We will post further news when we have it.
Until then, I hope you’re all finding other ways to exercise. There’s nothing stopping you from practicing your serves! My pendulum serve is improving…

There may not be the number of songs inspired by table tennis that there are about soccer/football, but here’s a playlist I made on YouTube. In this case, some of the songs just have the sounds of table tennis, some of them just use it for the video, and some are just dumb. There are jazz songs going way back to the 1920s and 1930s which have yet to make an appearance on YouTube. I will keep adding to the playlist and if you have any suggestions that I missed, please send me a message or post a comment below. I can’t guarantee these are all safe for work, but most of us are home at the moment.
