Club notice

Club members got their first taste of playing with new plastic balls on Tuesday. My personal feeling is that though noticeably different with both spin and bounce, it won’t really be a radical switch from the traditional celluloid ball. The sound on the other hand is dramatically different. It should be interesting to try 3★ balls in the near future.

The nice lady who helped to arrange with Mid-County Senior Center for Sunday table tennis passed away over the weekend. Until another person in the club is willing to be responsible for that location on the 1st/5th Sundays of the month, it will not be happening. Forgive me that I didn’t know her full name, but we all send condolences to her family.

A table tennis dealer (California Table Tennis Products) will be at the SCTTC on the following dates:

• May 22
• July 17
• September 18
• November 13

A new additional location for playing table tennis thanks to club member Kim. On the 1st and 5th Sunday of every month. Mid-County Senior Center has teamed with SCTTC to provide an additional location for training.

Mid-County Senior Center at 829 Bay Ave in Capitola. 2-6pm.

The calendar on the home page has been updated.

Club will not be open on Christmas Eve unless someone can make sure the rent is paid for that day. Contact Willie.

As of today, http://receiving.ucsc.edu/surplus/surplusstore.html says they have a used, but nice ping pong table for a more than reasonable price. Let me know if it has been sold. Up at UCSC at http://maps.ucsc.edu/content/419/map_detail
